The Livingston County’s annual free dental care day has already become a tradition, and each year plenty of people show up to the dental office of Dr. Kellogg to receive the dental treatments they need so much.
Ever since 2009, well over 600 patients received the free dental care they required, and on last weekend’s event there have been treated as many as 100 patients.
On Saturday, the dental staff provided free dental care services worth of $120,000. This was a free Dentistry from the Heart sponsored event.
On Saturday, there has been a cancer patient present on the free dental services day who received a dental extraction.
The patient could not afford this type of treatment at a private dentist, but he was not allowed to continue chemotherapy with a damaged tooth.
At this free dental services day, all patients treated left with a huge smile on their faces.
Among the free dental care services offered on Saturday there were professional dental cleanings, cavity fillings, extractions and more.
Many of the patients who attended this free dental care day actually did not see a dentist for many years.
They could not afford to get the dental treatments they needed because they had no dental insurance or the means to pay for the care.
This year as many as 5 dentists participated at the free dental care day. Next year the main goal of the staff is to include even more free dental services for the needy patients from the community.
The staff hopes to bring in the team an oral surgeon as well.
