Top 5 Ways to Ensure That You Always Have Great Breath
It’s time to face facts, having great breath plays a major role in many events you’ll experience throughout life.
Those types of events include meeting your long-time partner, landing a job, keeping or making friends and other things of importance. It’s not an option to have great breath, it’s an everyday necessity. To ensure that events within your life go smoothly without that negative impact bad breath can present, we’re going to discuss the “Top 5 Ways to Ensure That You Always Have Great Breath.”
1. Scrape Your Tongue.
You can purchase tongue scrapers in almost every health food store or convenience store. Food residue is often left on the back of the tongue, and few people realize that even if you brush regularly a bacteria build up on the tongue will still cause bad breath. If you don’t have access to a tongue scraper, you can also use your toothbrush to brush the tongue area. Tongue scraping is a must do daily type of thing. Have you noticed that your tongue looks white even after you’ve brushed your teeth? That’s one of the major signs of buildup, and you want to prevent the problem before it worsens.
2. Brush and Floss After Every Meal
Again, not many people realize how important it is to do this. Not brushing and flossing after every meal would be similar to leaving small food particles in your mouth to rot and probably cause tooth discoloration and decay. Brush it and Floss it, it’s not a hard thing to do, and it only takes about a minute or two.
Watch Out For Those Bad Drinks and Beverages
3. Don’t Eat Bad Foods or Drink Unhealthy Beverages
Alcoholic beverages everyone knows can lead to a case of bad breath instantly. Drinks like coffee can stain your teeth, dry out your mouth, and be an open door for bacteria to start breeding. Then there are the foods to stay away from which could also cause bad breath. Those foods could be onions, cheese, garlics, and anything else you can think of that might taste good to you, but smell horrible. Many of those foods have a habit of sticking to the teeth’s or gums and causing the bad breath to become worse. If you’re going to eat those foods just remember to brush and floss afterwards, maybe twice if need be.
4. Use Quality Toothpaste
We know everyone is trying to save a buck these days, but no expense should be spared when it comes to choosing the right toothpaste. It’s not to say that you should only purchase expensive toothpaste, truth be told, lower priced toothpaste can perform the same as the expensive stuff when you know what to look for. Keep in mind that your toothpaste should contain gentle abrasives, ingredients like hydrated aluminum oxides and magnesium carbonate.
It should also contain the ingredients like sorbitol which keeps your toothpaste moist, and thickeners like seaweed or synthetic cellulose. You should also check the ingredients labels for fluoride which aids in strengthening the enamel, and be aware that some flavoring agents have been known to cause tooth decay. All toothpaste should perform to remove stains and whiten your teeth.
5. See a Dentist Regularly for Cleanings
Most of you reading this probably see a dentist maybe once every few months, but you should visit your dentist regularly like you do your doctor. Your teeth are a major part of your health, they should be professionally cleaned regularly, not just when a problem arises or you lose a tooth. Take advantage of your dentist, that’s what they’re here for. It’s disappointing when a patient walks into a dental office that can afford treatment, but has to all of a sudden have a root canal, or have several teeth pulled. People, we’ve got to do better when it comes to fresh breath and healthy teeth.
