Cosmetic Dentistry Veneers: Forget about Discolored, Crooked or Chipped Teeth

Let us accept one thing. We try to avoid visiting dentists. The reasons are simple.

We are ignorant; we do not feel the need to visit a dentist; we don’t think we suffer any oral problem; we just want to stay away from the thought of sitting on that chair in a dental clinic.

So many reasons and so many ways to fool ourselves, but what we forget is that if we are so ignorant and keep neglecting our oral health, then we can end up in serious troubles. One thing is that when we are not careful, we may even end up losing our teeth! Yes, it can happen. That is why we are advised that we should at least undergo regular checkups to make sure that our teeth are safe and healthy.

Cosmetic dentistry has changed the way we smile and how we can take care of our teeth. So when you face discoloration of teeth, crooked or chipped teeth, you are advised to get veneers. But what are veneers?

Well, you can call them something similar to contact lenses. They are ultra thin in appearance and essence. Veneers are used as masks for hiding teeth discoloration and form. This gives you perfect smile. For a better result, the teeth may be reshaped and cut.

The advantage of using veneers is that they will give you a beautiful smile for almost 2 decades! Such a time period is very long and you will see how beneficial your decision of veneers was. So what can you get out of veneers? You can get rid of pointy teeth. Using veneers, you will get fuller looking teeth that are even straight.

If your teeth are discolored and stained, then you may not feel like going out and meeting people. Socializing may not be something you would want to do happily. So you can get veneers that will give you a permanent whitening solution. You can flaunt such beautiful teeth and smile from ear to ear.

If your teeth are damaged or chipped, then chances are you would stay at home. Such people think twice before they say ‘cheese’ in front of a camera. But why keep yourself bound in walls?

You have veneers that will solve this problem for you. Just go for this permanent and pleasant solution and feel good. Alternatives to veneers are procedures that may not be permanent. For example bonding but it is temporary fix.

Lastly, you should keep in mind the maintenance of veneers. Use non abrasive toothpaste for cleaning veneers. Try not to be very harsh while brushing. Another important thing is to visit your dentist at regular intervals. After a few months, get cleaning done by your dentist. It will make sure than veneers are cleaned thoroughly.

Before you venture into this procedure, make sure you understand that it is not such a cheap treatment and will be highly expensive. Also, the cost will vary from place to place and can be as expensive as thousand dollars per tooth.

Therefore, take professional advice, whether you need veneers or no. If you can do without them, then stick to what your dentist tells you. Only if it is the last of a few options, then go for it.
