Dental Health Crisis Threatening Jamaica
The region of Jamaica is currently undergoing an unprecedented dental health crisis. Currently, only about 15% of the population of Jamaica has access to proper health care. Out of these, only 6% has actually dental health coverage within their insurance policies, but even they can enjoy only limited access to such services.

The Children’s Dental Health Project (CDHP) today applauded the historic dental health care provisions that were recently enacted as part of the health care reform legislation signed into law by President Obama. The provisions contained in the legislation represent an unprecedented investment in the oral health of all Americans, especially children.
Local doctors and dentists are offering their free dental services to people in the community who cannot pay for it. Dentists offer free dental work to children. It’s an effort to give check-ups to youngsters whose family has no dental insurance to hopefully prevent future problems. Free dental services for young people are being offered.

Thousands of people showed up to get free dental care Friday and Saturday as the Connecticut Mission of Mercy offered a two-day free dental clinic in the city.
With many Australians facing the silent epidemic of poor oral health, a new program known as Healthy Smiles for Life is providing free dental work for people in need across the country.
