An American Dental Crisis



According to a study conducted by The Pew Center on the States, in 2009 Americans made 830,000 visits to the emergency room for entirely preventable dental conditions. The unnecessary visits, says the study, cost states, hospitals and federal government programs such as Medicaid millions of dollars. In Florida alone, dental-related hospital visits produced $88 million in charges.
