Oral Health America To Receive Grant For Wisdom Tooth Project For Older Adults
Oral Health America (OHA) is honored be the recipient of a $145,000 DentaQuest Foundation grant award for the development of OHA’s Wisdom Tooth Project, which seeks to change the lives of older adults who are especially vulnerable to oral disease.

The health care reform bill passed by Congress, and now signed into law by President Obama, includes many provisions that will improve the nation’s oral health. Most significantly, the bill does guarantee oral health coverage for children and allows for resources to extend oral disease prevention measures in every state. Over time, the bill’s provisions can help to increase access to care for all ages.
The Oral Health America (OHA) Gala always raises funds that support oral health care programs across the country, but this year’s Gala will offer attendees a unique opportunity to fund programs in their own communities. Attendees will bid on 16 dental-themed artworks, created by children in China and donated by DNTLworks Equipment Corporation.
Nearly 2 in 3 U.S. adults (63%) think that it is important that dental coverage is part of an overall health reform package, and 40 percent say it is very important, according to a new public opinion survey commissioned by Oral Health America.
