Fighting Dental Fear with Optimism and Humor
It has been discovered that optimism of the patient and humor in the atmosphere are two of the most significant factors when it comes to managing stress when visiting the dentist. Studies have been done by scientists at Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden on patients with a dental fears and how they cope with those fears.

It appears that older people experience less extreme dental anxiety that young adults do. A recent survey determined that 15% of people in the 16 to 34 age brackets experienced extreme dental anxiety when they visited their dentist.
