Tooth decay or dental caries results in formation of cavities in the teeth and if untreated can spread from the tooth enamel, which is the outer most layer of the tooth into the softer dentin. Tooth decay is one of the most common dental problems in the world; it is particularly common in children and young adults.
Tooth Infection is a slow and gradual process resulting in dental cavities or dental caries. This tooth decay occurs when disease causing bacteria produce an acid which removes the top most layer of the tooth surface, the enamel. This infection can go deeper in to the pulp chamber and results in tooth loss or it may even cause infections to wisdom tooth.
Dentists call it “tooth abscess“. At first abscess looks like a swelled area that turned red. It hurts and you can feel how the temperature increased. An abscessed tooth must be treated. If it is ignored then complications are inevitable.
Untreated tooth abscess is very dangerous. If abscessed tooth left untreated, the tooth infection can spread and you can lose your tooth or have other health problems. Left untreated, tooth abscess may compromise the immune system and in some cases may become life-threatening.
