Thousands of people who don’t have dental insurance will be able to receive free help. A startling study recently released shows that 17 million low income children go without dental care every year, to put that into perspective that’s one in five kids.

Low-income children are especially at risk of serious dental disease because parents so often have no insurance. Tooth decay is children’s worst chronic health problem, a “hidden epidemic,” according to the Dental Health Foundation’s 2006 ” California Smile Survey.”
Affordable dental care will be available to low-income, uninsured children over the course of two weeks beginning Monday. Two nonprofit health care organizations teamed up with local businesses, city leaders and community supporters to bring a mobile dental van to Littleton to provide uninsured children with access to oral health services.

Only use fluoride free toothpaste on your child, anything with fluoride can be very dangerous if swallowed.
Do not try bleaching products because they are very strong and may cause sensitivity in your child's mouth.

I made one experience as a child at about 5. I had a "fight" and hit a teeth of my "rival", so it seemed he'd fall out. The kindergarden teacher said, that's not much of a problem, since it was a milktooth and the tooth of next generation should come soon.
