Sedation is a real help for lots of people, especially for children. Great way to save them from the stress.
I understand that some people simply are unable to relax in the dentist chair without some sort of “intervention” but this is a very scary subject that needs to be handled extremely carefully, especially with regard to young children. I’ve recently written about it and can’t shake the feeling of sadness I have for the parents involved. If you’re interested, click here: http://bit.ly/LA9PzH

Sedation is a great option also for adults undergoing major dental implants and bone graft surgery.
I don’t understand how a clinician might offer major invasive surgery without the use of any form of sedation. If there are no medical contraindication, sedation is the way to go.
