Home Remedies: Natural Teeth Whiteners

There are certain foods or home ingredients which can help you whiten your teeth even up to three shades:

Mixture of white vinegar, baking soda and table salt

Baking soda is a naturally corrosive substance, and it helps removing the stubborn stains from the teeth. Make a mixture of half teaspoon vinegar + half teaspoon baking soda + one pinch of salt.

You will obtain a creamy substance which you can use two to three times per week, until you obtain the wanted results. Be careful however, because if you use this mixture excessively, it can cause enamel depletion and then your teeth will become extremely sensitive.

Activated Charcoal Capsules

It may sound very strange to you, but charcoal in a powder form is sill used even today as a means of cleaning the teeth in certain parts of the world.

Actually, in Ancient India charcoal powder was used as a cleaning agent for the teeth, and it has been found that charcoal whitens the teeth naturally.

Do not use just any type of charcoal, but the powder that you can release from the Activated Charcoal capsules (found in most drug stores).

Massage the powder onto the teeth for about 60 seconds, and then rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. It is not harmful for the teeth or the gums.

Orange Peel- dried & powdered

The powder obtained from dried Orange peels can again help you get some beautiful white teeth. However, before you can see any results you need to use the paste for at least 3 or 4 weeks. You can also use the inside whitish part of a fresh orange, and rub this on your teeth every day until you will start seeing the results. Both methods work pretty good at whitening teeth, it just takes some patience!

Baking Soda + Fresh Lemon Juice

Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda with half a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and clean your teeth. Both the basking soda and the lemon juice contain active ingredients which help with the oxidation of stains, and thus the stains are removed. Use with caution, as lemon juice is highly acidic while baking soda is corrosive. Three times per week for about a month would be enough.
