Chin Implants Become Popular

Experts have released a report according to which the number of patients requesting chin implants is constantly rising.

HOT!

Nowadays, thanks to cosmetic dentistry and different cosmetic surgery procedures, you can look exactly as you want. A full makeover can make one look perfect, but for this one also has to go through several surgeries and sometimes there is a quite painful recovery time.

It has been noted that chin implants have become more and more popular, and the ASPS or the Experts of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons have released a report according to which the number of patients requesting chin implants is constantly rising.

For example, in 2011 there have been performed 20,000+ such surgeries in the US alone, while a year prior there were only about 6,000 such surgeries performed.

Chin implant is known in medical terms as “genioplasty” (chin augmentation) while chin reduction is known as “mentoplasty” (mostly undergone by people with the “double chin” appearance). Patients who are not satisfied with their profile, because their chin is not prominent enough to make a beautiful and soft line with the rest of the face, will generally request these types of interventions.

Chin augmentation is typically performed by the cosmetic surgeon and he will use special silicon implants to create that perfect, prominent chin. Regarding the prices for chin implants these are usually between $4,000 and $6,000 depending on the shape of the implant, the experience of the surgeon, the reputation of the clinic, and the extent of the work needed to be done.

Patients who cannot afford the chin implants, but still would like a more prominent chin, will usually choose a cheaper and less invasive method, the liposuction under the chin. When the fat cells are being suctioned from under the chin area, the chin will automatically become more prominent.

Others, who have got the available financial resources, will generally choose rhinoplasty and chin implant surgery, and then they will also undergo several cosmetic dentistry procedures (such as teeth whitening, dental implants, etc.).

Altogether, these cosmetic procedures will help changing a lot the way a person looks, making him or her look younger, healthier and last but not least having a soft and well balanced profile.
