Filling an important need
The Eagan Valley Dental Center provided free dental care on Friday, February 4 which was the annual, national “Give Kids a Smile Day” in the USA. Dentist Glenn Perkins and 10 of their other clinic staff donated their time and talents to help 30 low-income kids on that community service day.

A fun trip to the dentist at the Cradle of Aviation
Seventy-five dentists from the Nassau County Dental Society, with the help of 200 more volunteers, provided free dental screenings to about 1500 students as part of the “Give Kids a Smile” program at the Cradle of Aviation in East Garden City on Feb. 4. Sponsored by NEFCU, the program offered an array of free help to children who otherwise do not have access to dental care. Students came from the Freeport, Roosevelt, Uniondale and Hempstead school districts.

Free dental help continues today in Oklahoma City
About 1,150 people lined up to get their teeth poked, cleaned, filled and pulled Friday, the first of a two-day clinic at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
After getting up at 7 a.m. Thursday for his construction job, he still hadn’t slept by 2 a.m. Friday when he left Grandfield in southern Oklahoma to attend the Oklahoma Mission of Mercy free dental clinic.

Dental office gives kids a reason to smile
Forty children age 12 and under opening their mouths could seem like a parent’s nightmare, but in fact it was a welcomed opportunity on Feb. 4.
Rt. 1 Dental was one of thousands of dental offices throughout the nation to participate in the American Dental Association’s “Give Kids a Smile!” National Children’s Dental Access Day. One day of free dental care services such as cleanings, X-rays, screenings and educational materials were provided to low-income or uninsured children ages 3 to 12.

Free dental help benefits Trapnell students
PLANT CITY About 300 Trapnell Elementary School students recently took part in a national program that offered free dental screenings and the opportunity for their families to apply for free or low-cost dental care. ACS, a division of Xerox Co., sponsors the free screenings around the nation for schoolchildren in selected areas.
Althea Wynn, the program director for dental assistants with Tampa’s Ultimate Medical Academy, helped to provide volunteers and instructors for the Trapnell screening.

KENDALL, FL – A South Florida dentist is trying to make children’s oral hygiene a little less painful for parents. Dr. Elena Menendez decided to give away free dental help to 200 uninsured families in Kendall, FL. Cassanda Serralta’s three-year-old son is one of the beneficiaries of the free dental day.
