There have been served as many as 76 dental patients at Dr. Jim Lesinski’s office located on Sweet Home Road in Amherst. Patients received free professional teeth cleanings, teeth fillings and extractions where it was needed.

Dr. Jim Lesinsski said that unfortunately the country is going through many economical challenges, and it is extremely important that people know that even now, there are plenty of good things happening, that are meant to offer them help.

The main organizer of the event was the non profit organization Dentistry from the Heart. Ever since it has been founded in 2001, the organization offered help to well over 50,000 patients and the value of the services provided exceeded $1 million.

Despite the fact that there have been served as many patients as possible, not everybody arriving at the event could get the free dental help they needed. Therefore, Dr. Jim Lesinski has referred several dental patients who were struggling with extremely serious problems, to other dentists.

Among the dental volunteers at the event, there have also been present some of Dr. Lesinski’s regular patients. For example, Cindy Acara is such a regular patient, and offered to help with the registration at the event.

She has arrived as early as 5:50 am on Sunday at the office, and she began the preparations for the long day that was about to begin. She says she was extremely glad that she was able to offer free help to people who truly need it.

This is Lesinski’s first such greater free dental care event, but it is not the fist time he actually offers pro bono work. A few months ago, it happened that an insurance provider filed for bankruptcy, leaving one of his patients with an extremely bad oral health situation, and without dental insurance coverage. Then, Lesinski offered to get the patient fit with a new set of dentures, for free.

The Dentistry from the Heart programs will continue to run this year, with the next being held on September 17 (Saturday) at five different locations of Dr. Bob’s Dental Care. The locations are as follows: Niagara Falls, North Buffalo, Elmwood Village, Town of Tonawanda and Amherst.
