Free Dental Sealant Day – San Angelo Dentist Offers Sweet Spot For Community

San Angelo pediatric dentist Kelly Sawyer, DDS, offers free dental assistance to children of the local community on February 18th. Pediatric Dentistry of San Angelo is hosting the third annual free sealant day this Friday, February 18th, at 3013 W. Loop 306 in San Angelo. Services are being offered to children ages 6-18 years. This special community service is offered to families who do not have insurance coverage in an effort to help local children maintain good oral health and prevent decay.

This free dental sealant day is sponsored by the Concho Valley Dental Hygiene Association. Dr. Sawyer hosts and supervises the entire day – with dental professionals from various local offices coming in to provide community kids with the sealant care they need.

Pan De Vida provides pancakes, services for Sun Valley Estates

In their ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life in the San Tan Valley neighborhood of Sun Valley Estates, the Pan de Vida Foundation hosted a pancake breakfast for the area on Jan. 29, 2011. The foundation did more than simply feeding the hungry however, they also registered people for home repairs, handed out clothing and set up appointments for free dental assistance.

Dental assistance and oral health education are part of Give Kids a Smile event

BALTIMORE, MD (February 15, 2011) — Tooth decay is the single most common chronic childhood disease, according to the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office. To raise awareness of the importance of learning good oral care, the National Museum of Dentistry and the University of Maryland Baltimore Dental School invited more than 60 Baltimore City schoolchildren to receive free dental assistance and learn how to take care of their teeth at the National Museum of Dentistry on Friday, February 4, 2011. Kicking off National Children’s Health Month, the event was part of Give Kids A Smile, a nationwide program initiated by the American Dental Association to help children gain access to the dental assistance they need. Dental disease among kids from low-income families is epidemic.

Etobicoke dentist donating assistance for second year

An Etobicoke dentist is giving away $2,500 in free dental work. Dr. Amanpreet Chopra, a dental practioner within the community, has devoted the last 16 years of her life towards dentistry, and routinely gives away free dental work, toothbrushes and toothpaste within the Etobicoke community to encourage good oral health.

Openings Remain For Dental assistance

ELLSWORTH — Only 24 opportunities remain for uninsured children to receive free dental assistance on Feb. 25 in Ellsworth as part of the national Give Kids a Smile Day. Sixty children from local families will receive free dental services, including X-rays, comprehensive exams and cleanings, as part of the effort.

The Feb. 25 event will be hosted by Maine Coast Community Dental Clinic, a program of Downeast Health Services. Patients ages 1 to 18 without any form of dental insurance are eligible to participate. The event will be held at Downeast Health Services, 52 Christian Ridge Road in Ellsworth. Appointments are required. Anyone interested in scheduling an appointment should call 667-0293.
