Particularly when it comes to dental care, they cannot afford even to get treatments for badly infected teeth so they must put up with a lot of pain on an ongoing basis.
The good news is that quite soon there will be launched a new free dental clinic for the low income in Whitefish. The free dental services clinic will be launched by the Shepherd’s Hand Clinic.
The free dental help for the poor program will start on January 13, 2014.
The sign-in process for the free dental services starts at 6:00pm on Monday (Jan. 13), at the Christ Lutheran Church – 5150 River Lakes Parkway in Whitefish.
The free dental services will be offered for patients who are without dental insurance and/or patients who are below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
At first, mainly patients with acute dental issues will be seen at no cost.
This free dental clinic is open to all low income residents from the Flathead Valley.
In this region there is the Flathead City-County Health Department which already offers dental Care at affordable rates on a sliding scale basis which start at $40, but the greatest majority of the low income cannot afford to pay even that fee.
This is why the Shepherd’s Hand Clinic has started this special program offering dental care at no cost for the poorest of the society.
The annual budget of the dental clinic will be around 40,000, but there have been many organizations and individuals who donated to this project to help it come true.
