Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic for Low-Income Adults

A Mission of Mercy Free Dental event will be held in Charlotte on August 19 and 20, and the main supporter of the event is The North Carolina Dental Society. Patients will be treated on a first-come first-served basis, and there are no charges whatsoever for the dental services offered.

According to Dr. Michael Stout, the community needs greatly such humanitarian dental events. He has seen many times homeless people or mothers who have gone through extremely bad experiences, who needed badly emergency dental treatments.

Often times, if these emergency conditions would not have been treated, the patients could have died from the complications. Dr. Stout works as a dental professional in Charlotte ever since 1987, and he has been warmheartedly planning the upcoming dental event.

At the event, there will be approximately 200 dentists and volunteers who will offer restorative dental treatments for the patients who need them. Some of the services offered include tooth extractions, fillings or professional dental cleaning.

According to Dr. Even Miller, with Charlotte Endodontics, free dental event needs all the dental professionals and volunteers that are available. Everybody is going to work hard to offer the people in need the proper treatments. This is the first Mission of Mercy dental event in Charlotte, and Dr. Stout with Dr. Miller promise that they will do everything in their powers to make the whole even run as smoothly as possible.

The job of the dentists will be to sit down and work as hard as they can for as long as possible. It is the staff of volunteers who will keep everything in motion, so many volunteers are needed; this is why if you want to become a volunteer you can sign up directly on the clinic’s website.

Free dental event will run for approximately 34 hours, and during this period the staff estimates that they will be able to offer treatment for about 2,000 patients. The entire medical department is extremely excited about the event, and they truly want to offer help for as many people as possible.

Those who qualify for free dental event are the people whose income is less than approximately $416/week. People will not be asked for a proof of income, but when they will register they will be required to fill out the income form. The required dental work/treatment will be performed during that one visit, and there are no cosmetic dentistry services offered.

Free dental event opens on August 19 (Friday) and it will run non stop until Saturday 5p.m. The location of the Mission of Mercy free dental care event is at the Charlotte Convention Center.
