Giving Back Smiles: One Free Dental Clinic at a Time

Dentist Brian Vaughn of Vaughn Family Dentistry knows firsthand just how serious lack of dental care can be. Dr. Brian has informed WorlDental.org about a free dental care event that he hosts every year that helps people without dental insurance coverage to get the critical dental services that they need.

He understands that there are many people who lack adequate dental insurance and are forced to pay for critical procedures out of pocket. He also knows that most people who do not have dental coverage simply cannot afford to have even the basic procedures performed.

Besides the tremendous pain and suffering that can be caused by lack of necessary dental work, poor dental care can also cause heart attacks, strokes and a number of other serious medical conditions. Because of this, Dr. Brian offers free dental services via his clinic annually.

This year, the free dental clinic will be held on Friday June 3rd from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Vaughn Family Dentistry in Trumbull, CT.

Dr. Brian has stated that “because there is such a high need for dental care in our community, hundreds of people have shown up for this event in the past”. He urges those in need of dental services to show up for the event early since patients are seen on a first come first served basis.

Brian Vaughn, DDS is the owner of Vaughn Family Dentistry. Dr. Florio is also available for the event and is an oral surgeon from the Facial Group. Dr. Gandhi is on staff at Vaughn Family Dentistry as well and all of the staff at the Vaughn Family Dentistry offices will be donating their time for this annual event to provide dental care to those in need.

Dr. Vaughn provides this free annual dental clinic for the community because he understands just how many people in the Trumbull, CT area who are in need of affordable dental services. There are many people who neglect their teeth and in doing so, also neglect their general health. These people simply do not have the dental coverage that they need or are simply not able to afford adequate dental services.

When asked about just who typically comes to the annual event for free dental care, Dr. Vaughn informed WorlDental.org that there are wide mixes in the patients regarding age as well as background. Children, teens, adolescents and adults and elderly citizens normally attend the event to get the critical dental care that they need.

There are normally hundreds of patients who attend to receive free dental care. The Vaughn Family Dentistry clinic has teamed up with York Dental Lab to provide free partials for those missing their front teeth. The clinic works hard to give those unable to afford dental services back their smiles.

The clinic will have raffle prizes as well as clowns available to entertain children and various deserts, food, drinks and gift cards all donated by other businesses in the area. Dr. Vaughn states that in previous years, up to four hundred people have turned out for the event to receive the dental care that they need.
