The free dental care day has been an initiative of the Southern Illinois University’s School of Medicine.
This has been a Give Kids a Smile free dental care event.
This free dental care day is held on an annual basis, and this Monday it was held from 7:30am and up until 12:00am.
The free dental care day was held at the main clinic of the school at 2800 College Avenue in Alto, IL.
Dentists and dental hygienists offered a wide variety of free dental care services, which included oral health exams, dental cleanings, fluoride cleanings, extractions and cavity fillings.
There have also been plenty of fun and entertaining activities for children available.
Pre registration was not necessary for this free dental care day, but children had to be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian in order to benefit of the free dental treatments.
Main sponsor of the annual Give Kids a Smile free dental care event is the American Dental Association.
Generally, at the Alton annual free dental care day there are treated approximately 200 children during one day.
