Give Kids a Smile
TOMAHAWK – Clean healthy teeth for children is the goal this month for the American Dental Association. One Northwoods dentist is looking for smiles in a program to bring awareness and oral care to kids. It’s called Give Kids a Smile and the mission is to provide free dental treatment to children whose parents may not be able to afford regular checkups.
The American Dental Association created Give Kids a Smile Day for dentists across the country to provide oral care to kids. Samantha Niedziela says, “I like getting my teeth polished.” Dr. Dean Hussong says helping youngsters in the community is why he and his staff donated their day, “We chose to see kids for exams, to do some restorative work, filings, extractions and sealants. Anything that the kids need that we can do while they’re here on this day. And we’re doing that free of charge.”
