Free dental care day held for needy
On this free dentistry day, the staff offered only extractions to patients who struggled with bad infections, or dental issues where the tooth could not be saved anymore.
This free dental help day has been hosted by the Brentwood Baptist Medical/Dental unit from Brentwood, Tennessee. During the two days of the free dentistry help days, the staff performed as many as 145 extractions on 53 patients.
Besides the dental extractions, the dental staff also offered fluoridation free dental services for children. General health examinations have also been available.
Earlier this year, in August, the Brentwood team of experts provided one such free dental help day in Sneedville and then in Rogersville.
Since they noticed there is a huge need for their services in the Rogersville area, they decided to come back again end of November.
The free dental work day has been hosted at the Of One Accord ministry in Rogersville. The team parked its mobile units at the Shepherd’s Center on Main Street.
According to Of One Accord director Sheldon Livesay, the team will return 3 to 4 times in 2014 to hold another such free dental care days in the region.
In the area of Rogersville there are too many people struggling without proper access to dental care. Many people have to put up with dental pain and discomfort, and such free dental care days are regarded as a true blessing.
The last time Brentwood team of free dental service experts were present in the area offered mainly professional dental cleanings. However, they returned a second time to offer mainly tooth extractions, since so many people struggle with advanced dental decay and infections.
100 people received free dental services at a clinic
The free dental care services day was hosted by All Smiles Dental. Owner and dentist Tim Stirneman said this free dental work event has been a huge success.
Approximately 30 volunteers from the First Institute Career Training for Success joined the dentist and his team to offer their help on this free dental services day
Many patients present at the free dental day did not have proper insurance coverage, or they were out of their job. These people could not afford paying for the dental work they required, but they left with a smile on their face after participating at this free dental care clinic.
The team of dentists and volunteers perfumed approximately 115 dental procedures on that day.
This has been a Dentistry from the Heart free dental clinic day.
Some patients visited the free dental services clinic for professional dental cleanings, while others showed up with serious dental pain and infections which required immediate attention.
Many of the patients who visited this free dentistry clinic actually waited for years until they could finally get the treatment they required so much.
