This means that people cannot afford even the most basic dental treatments such as professional cleanings or dental checkups twice a year, as recommended.
If there is no prevention, simple oral health problems can easily turn into complex dental health issues which are extremely expensive to treat.
This is why, on July 27 and July 28 2012, there will be available a two day free dental clinic which will be hosted at the Hickory Metro Convention Center. The exact location is at 1960 13th Avenue Dr SE, NC-28602.
The free clinic will open its doors starting with 6:00am on both days, and patients are going to be offered these services on a first come, fires served basis.
Among the free dental services offered it is important to mention the professional dental cleanings to eliminate harmful plaque and other deposits, tooth extractions and dental filings.
These are all basic oral health care services, and if these are performed regularly, other more serious dental health complications can be surely avoided (such as gum diseases for example).
Eligible patients are those who are at or below the 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guideline. The free clinic is offered by the North Carolina Mission of Mercy, which is a program offered by the North Carolina Dental Society.
Remember that prevention is extremely important in oral health, so make sure to register if you require dental treatment but you cannot afford to pay for it.
