NHS dentistry wants to raise the awareness regarding the importance of proper dental hygiene, and there will be a tooth bus circulating in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire.
People who have not seen a dentist in the past two years, will have the opportunity to receive a free dental checkup.
Sadly, several NHS statistics have shown that the greatest majority of people from these areas have not seen a dentist in at least two years.
Many of these people might struggle with complex dental health issues, and they need to be referred for proper treatment.
The NHS “tooth bus” as it is called, will make several stops at supermarkets or shopping centers in these areas, and at many SureStart centers.
The NHS has appointed the medial staff from the Iosis Dental Clinic Ltd. to offer these free dental checkups.
According to the director of the clinic, Shapour Hariri, in cases when the dentists will find oral health problems, they will refer the patients to local dental NHS practices.
Here, the patients are going to receive all the dental care that they need.
Such mobile dental clinics are extremely welcome in areas of the country where people do not have easy access to proper dental care.
This particular NHS dental treatment bus will be in Hampshire up until August 19, and it will move on to Berkshire starting with August 20.
Then, later on, the bus will be in Oxfordshire from November 9 2012.
