Unfortunately, dental care has become an unaffordable business for most of the people who struggle to make ends meet.
These people cannot afford to treat even the most basic dental problems, and they cannot afford to pay for proper dental insurance.
This why, every day there are more and more people struggling with infected teeth, missing teeth and other oral health complications.
Faculty members and dental students from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry will offer free dental care to the residents of the city.
There will be well over 120 students and 40+ members of the faculty offering these free dental health services.
Among the free treatment, it is important to mention professional dental cleanings, extractions, dental fillings, and several other dental care treatments.
This event will be held on June 9 and 10 at the Pike County Central High School. The services will be provided starting with 6:00am on both days.
The event is an effort which comes from the REM Kentucky (Remote Area Medical), and the organization has held several other such free medical events in the past, including vision and general health events.
This is already the 4th annual such event, and according to estimations, during the two days of the free clinic there will be served well over 1,000 needy patients. The school is located at 100 Winners Circle Drive, Pikeville KY 41501.
