The CARE clinic of Goodhue County has recently expanded its fields of activity, by offering free dental care to individuals from the community who cannot afford proper healthcare otherwise.

The volunteers and the local dentists have foreseen a huge need for dental services in the area, but never thought that to such a huge extent.

According to Dr. Nancy Bremseth who is the clinic’s dental director, it was extremely surprising to see for how long the people of the community were actually living with extremely complicated dental problems before the clinic has finally opened.

The clinic operates as a free service provider every Tuesday evening, and it is offering these services mainly to people who need urgent treatment. The free services include dental extractions, X-rays and dental fillings.

There are two doctors and 2-3 dental assistants offering their services to the clinic on these free dental evenings. According to Dr. Bremseth, every evening treatment is being offered to 6 or 7 such patients who need urgent care.

There are 12 dentists and 16 dental hygienists and assistants who offer their time and skills to the communities throughout Goodhue County.

The most important part of this is that the staff works extremely passionately, and they try to serve as many patients as possible when the free dental care clinic is operating.

The clinic has been basically born thanks to individual and business donations and the grants that it has received. Both local dentist and hygienists recognize the importance and the need of such a clinic in this community, mainly because they have seen plenty of patients in their own practices that came for treatment and could not afford to pay for it.

Patients do not have to pay anything for these services, however they are welcome to make donations so that the clinic will be able to expand its services and be able to serve even more patients in the future.

Those who need to make an appointment can freely call at 651-388-1022 and between 4:30 and 6:30 pm registration can be made.
