New Affordable Dental Clinic Accepting Medicaid Patients

Spotsylvania County will welcome a new dental office that will be opened by a company specializing in free and affordable dental care for underprivileged children. The clinic is scheduled for opening next month, on September 12.

Spotsylvania County will welcome a new dental office that will be opened by a company specializing in affordable dental care for underprivileged children. The clinic is scheduled for opening next month, on September 12.

The company is called “Kool Smiles Dentistry for Kids and Parents”, and it is currently renovating a spot in order to house the new affordable dental clinic.

The location of this clinic will be at 3533 Plank Road at the Spotsylvania Crossing shopping center.

Kool Smiles is actually a for-profit organization which has already got 120 offices spread across 14 states.

According to the company spokesman, Geoffrey Freeman, the mission of Kool Smiles is to expand the concept of oral health and dentistry services to all the underserved communities, where people have extremely difficultly access to affordable dental care.

Several types of insurances are accepted by the dental clinic, including but not limited to FAMIS, Tricare or Medicaid. The offices of the organization are basically designed for children, but they treat adults as well.

The waiting places of the offices feature colorful playgrounds and brightly colored items for children to feel safe and happy when entering their offices. According to the regional dental director of Kool Smiles Dr. Priya Grewal, around 80% of the total of their patients are children.

The dental options for Medicaid clients will be expanded once the Kool Smiles arrives to the community.

The clinics accept Medicaid patients, and they welcome children of all ages from preschool and up to the 12th grade. It is known that several; dental practices throughout the country do accept Medicaid as an option, but still there is great need for even more such practices.
