Cost of Cheap Dental Implants Abroad

Countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador or India represent some of the best destinations in order to get cheap dental implants abroad.

HOT!

It is no wonder there is a huge competition among these countries because each of them wants to attract as many foreign patients as possible to their clinics.

If they manage in doing so, it means more money for their economy – more money for development.

Dental implant clinics in these countries operate according to very high standards:

  • There are dental clinics in Costa Rica where as much as 90% of the clientele comes from the US, UK, Canada and other countries
  • In El Salvador there are many dental clinics where the experts are US board certified implantologists and dental surgeons
  • In Mexico – just in the neighborhood of the US border you will find plenty of clinics with extremely reputed dentists

Regarding the costs of charged for cheap dental implants, these range between as little as $500 for dental implants and can go up to $1400 (still very cheap compared to a dental implant in a US clinic- $4,000+).

Then, for cheap dental implants with crowns, the prices range between $660 and $2,000, and all of these costs include fully all the logistic costs and the medical service fees. You make your calculations, and you will understand why so many people choose dental tourism and cheap dental implants abroad.

The cost for affordable dentures is between $500 and $2,500 for a full upper or lower arch. If you think about it, with the money you would pay in the US for such a procedure, you can get yourself a full set of dentures abroad, and have some money left for sightseeing tours in Mexico, India or El Salvador.

There are also the neuro-muscularly fitted dentures which involve more complex dental work, and the costs for these dentures ranges between $5,000 and $7,000 for a full set of teeth.

When bone grafting is needed for example, the cost for dental implants will be much higher. Bone grafting is done when the patient does not have enough bone mass for the implant to fuse with.

Then, the dentist will take bone from other parts of the jaw and re-implant the bone in the problematic spot. In case of bone grafting, the dental implants can cost anything between $2,000 and $3,500.

If you are at a point where you need to decide whether to have cheap dentures or dental implants, consider this. For the price of a full set of dentures in the US, you can easily get high quality and cheap dental implants abroad.

When they talk about the cheap cost of dental implants abroad, they really mean cheaper costs and work at high quality standards.

  1. Nice post!
    How about maintenance.
I don’t think it’s very convenient travel to India every time you need a check up.

Also, I doubt you are going to find a US board certified implantologist anywhere in the world, as such board does not exist. You may find a board certified Periodontist, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon or Prosthodontist, but not implantologist.

  2. Same problem in EU. Low price…quality of services.Usualy.

  3. Good article! There are clinics everywhere in the world with good dental and other health care practitioners. They can be as good as those in the UK and US as they can be trained there. The thing to watch out for of course is the necessity of the procedure. There seems to be a great interest in implants or crowns in recent years, some highly unnecessary as a simpler procedure would suffice. If you feel it’s absolutely necessary, than you have to factor in the cost of the flight, accommodation and food. Add these up and you might be surprised the price might even be higher than it is back home. This does not just apply to just dental surgery but laser eye surgery (lasik) and other cosmetic procedure. Think very carefully before making that trip and ask around for recommendations and referrals.

  4. Cost should really not be the main driver in a patient’s decision on where to go for dental implant surgery. We have seen quite a few people in the last couple of years who have travelled abroad for dental implant surgery, only for things to go badly wrong.
It may sound a little crass, but sometimes in life you get what you pay for, and when it comes down to it, dental implant surgery is invasive and usually time consuming. Personally, I would stay at home and use a dental payment plan to pay the increased price. In the end, you’ll have peace of mind and an almost certain guarantee of a successful outcome.
