Question

I have recently had a metal lower partial denture put in. Will this cause alarms to go off at the airport?

Answer

Rating: +0

Positive Negative

This is one of the most confusing question for anyone, even a dentist.

Some of the alarms at a few security systems go off when the metal partial dentures are placed, and some don't.

Most of the times, the metal dentures pass off without turning on the alarm. What we have heard from the international travelers is that a few times, the implants that are not made with Titanium, usually fire the alarm.

Titanium is one of the metals that passes the alarm without any problem.

With the denture metals, it is the density that is taken into consideration, apart from the size.

Usually when the alarm is set off too, they just check what the problem could be, and you are not into any trouble if you let them know what you had got a filling done recently, or a denture placed.
