Dentist’s office offering free dental day Friday

ZANESVILLE –No appointment or insurance is necessary to receive dental work Friday. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hawkins Complete Dental Service will offer free dental service to anyone.

The service is limited to fillings, extractions and cleanings, and procedures are limited to one per person to be able to provide care to more people.

Record number of children receive free dental care

The annual “Give Kids a Smile” program was again held statewide in February. A record 6,069 kids were provided free dental care from 203 dental clinics in Minnesota.

The 3,060 professional dental volunteers, including 538 dentists, provided exams, cleanings, education and treatment. In its eighth year, Give Kids A Smile has provided more than $11 million in free dental care to kids in need.

Healthcare with Heart

When a patient has a problem with his teeth, dental coordinator Lisette Wynn, another volunteer, prepares him for an exam by one of four volunteer dentist screeners. Because these dentists only diagnose problems at the clinic, Wynn then coordinates with one of about 35 partnering dentists to have the work done at his or her office—for free.

Free dental health fun for families at 20th annual Smile Day at the Zoo

Families are invited to attend the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association’s 20th annual Smile Day at the Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Road, on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The Peck Welcome Center will again be the site of free fun and educational oral health activities presented by students from Marquette University School of Dentistry and the dental hygiene programs at Milwaukee Area Technical College and Waukesha County Technical College.

Oral Cancer Screening Drive April 15 – 21, 2010

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ – The Monmouth Cancer Coalition will sponsor its third annual free oral cancer screening drive to raise awareness about the risks of oral cancer and reduce mortality from the disease. Free oral cancer screening exams will be available throughout Monmouth County from April 15th – April 21st at over forty venues including private physicians and dental practices, senior centers, residential treatment centers, hospitals, clinics and family practices. A vote to make college a bit more affordable

Dr. Jeremiah Lowney has been providing free dental care to Haitians since 1982. He worked with Mother Teresa, who asked him to establish an outpost in the rural city of Jeremie in southwest Haiti. Lowney’s The Haitian Health Foundation brings health services and hope to over 225,000 of the poorest people in more than 100 rural mountain villages.

Free dental treatment for kids by July

Deputy Health Minister Yacov Litzman (United Torah Judaism) said he hopes that by the beginning of July it will be possible to start the program which effectively grants free dental treatment to children. According to the program, children up to the age of 12 will receive treatment for a minimal sum.
