Jobless Seek Free, Low-Cost Health Care
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - During this economic slump, people are not only losing their jobs, but their insurance is also being cut. For the first time, many people are having to figure out how they can get health care for free.
Providers like Proctor want to make sure patients don’t shy away from health care because of their finances, as the financial strain could be even greater for an illness that is left untreated.
“I don’t want to have someone not come in because they can’t afford it,” she said. “We’re going to take care of everybody. As long as they can get in, we’ll see them, and we’ll talk about finances later.”
