Since Halloween is getting close, and this is the celebration of the tasty trick or treats (candies especially!), dental professionals have decided to help parents with the dental health issues of their little ones.

According to dentists, the month of October is quite a scary month because of the so many potential cavities that can appear due to eating so many candies…

The Centers for Disease Control reveal quite a few scary facts regarding the situation of the dental health of children. As much as 19% of the children between 2 and 19 years of age do struggle with untreated cavities.

Then, the Pew Center on the States revealed that 1 in every 5 kids under 18, actually live without any kind of dental care each year.

Therefore, officials believe it is extremely important to educate children about the importance of proper oral health. Since children learn best through playing, there will be several fun social media programs available for kids.

First, there will be the “Frightening Family Photo Contest”. This contest starts on Oct 12th, and parents are welcome to upload their “scary” Halloween family photo to the website. The winner will receive a Visa gift cared of $500, and a dental saving plan from Dentalplans.com.

Then, there are available the dental games for children. There are plenty of coloring books, interactive online games, and puzzlers which are all extremely educational, and through which children can learn a lot of important things about proper oral health.

Since brushing is not quite an all time favorite for younger children, the Toothbrush Task Force is actually a platform where mothers can communicate and share their “5 Trick-or-Teeth Tips”.

There will be plenty of health tips presented here, and also several success stories of mothers who could “trick” their little one to brush their teeth twice a day without any problems.

There will be several other such interactive games, tips & tricks columns, puzzles and even expert tips available for both parents and children alike.
