Give Kids a Smile Day Free Dental Work

This day we will be providing free dental services: exams, cleanings, xrays, fillings, and extractions. Give Kids a Smile Day is committed to helping children that may be unable to receive dental care. This day is dedicated to those children that need dental services and are unable to get them due to the circumstances in their life, including being uninsured or they are unable to find a clinic that excepts their insurance.

MSU Dental Ed back with annual ‘Give Kids a Smile’ program

MANKATO — Minnesota State University’s Dental Education Department is again teaming up with area dental care providers to offer free dental services to less fortunate children.

The program is scheduled for Thursday and Friday in the lower level of MSU’s Morris Hall.

The Dental Education Department is among hundreds of volunteer dental professionals across the state who are participating in the fourth-annual “Give Kids a Smile” event.

Free Dental Services for Children

Volunteer dentists, dental professionals and Northwest Technical College dental assisting program will team up to provide dental services for free to children whose families could not otherwise afford care. The free care will be provided to children under the age of 18, on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6, at Northwest Technical College, 905 Grant Ave. S.E. Registration is required and a parent or guardian must be present at the appointment. The Minnesota Dental Association is sponsoring this unique outreach effort, called “Give Kids a Smile.”

Free dental services give kids something to smile about

STOCKTON - Free dental screenings for children through age 17 will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at St. Raphael’s Dental Clinic at St. Mary’s Interfaith Community Services, 545 W. Sonora St.

Children in need of immediate treatment may be seen that day, while others with less-urgent needs will be referred to a participating dentist for free treatment during a follow-up appointment.

Ten dentists from the San Joaquin Dental Society have volunteered for the nationwide Give Kids a Smile Day event, as well as several dental hygiene students from University of the Pacific who will provide health-education tips.

Free dental service for a day

Dr. Timothy Huckabee, in Southlake, will offer a day of free dental services for those who can’t afford to pay for services on Feb. 12.

The event is part of the nationwide “Dentistry with a Heart” campaign to encourage dentists to give back to the community near Valentine’s Day. This is the second time Huckabee Dental has sponsored an event; in 2009, the team of dentists and hygienists provided free dental services for more than 120 patients.

More Than 260 Arizona Children To Receive Free Dental Services

United Concordia Dental, one of the nation’s largest dental insurers, is partnering with the Arizona Dental Foundation (ADF) to provide free dental services in February to more than 260 children throughout Arizona.

During February, United Concordia Dental and ADF will offer free dental services as follows:

  • Cleanings to more than 50 children on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Mohave Community College, 3400 Highway 95, Bullhead City from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Screenings and follow-up care referrals to more than 50 children on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Sun Life Family Health Center, 865 North Arizola Road, Casa Grande from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Cleanings and restorations to more than 35 children at Desert Dentistry, 6231 South Central Avenue, Phoenix, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Screenings, cleanings and follow-up care referrals to 75 children on Friday, Feb. 12 at Pima Community College, 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Cleanings to 50 children on Friday, Feb. 26 at Phoenix College Dental Hygiene Clinic, 1202 West Thomas Road, Mesa, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

USD dental hygiene program offers free sealants, fluoride varnish

VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of South Dakota’s Department of Dental Hygiene is offering free fluoride varnish and sealants to children age 18 and younger.

Fluoride varnish is a protective coating painted on the teach to help fight cavities. Sealants are made of thin, plastic material and are placed on the chewing surface of back teeth to seal grooves and pits to prevent bacteria from beginning the decaying process.

The Macon Volunteer Clinic off Rogers Avenue provides medical and dental services for people at or below the federal poverty guidelines.

Free dental clinic provides smiles, clean teeth to needy kids

FAIRBORN — Among the 34 children who attended a free dental clinic on Monday, one girl wouldn’t sit in the dentist’s chair until the Tooth Fairy held her hand.

The program, called “Keep Kids Smiling,” will provide free cleanings, sealants and fillings to an estimated 50 to 60 children every day this week.

Mobile clinic gives free dental exams for young kids

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) — DuPage County is offering free children’s dental screenings, plus a bit of fun.

Kids who show up for the walk-in screenings this Friday will get an extra incentive to visit the DuPage Children’s Museum. Their parents will get a free museum ticket, good for use when their kids pay full admission.

The event is part of the American Dental Association’s Give Kids a Smile Day program, which is designed to improve young children’s access to dental care.

Free dental care offered

When Tulsa-area residents see just how many people line up for the this week’s Mission of Mercy dental clinic, it will bring home how great the need is for affordable dental health care in Oklahoma, said Dr. C. Rieger Wood, president of the Oklahoma Dental Association.

“In the Tulsa area, we do not have enough free clinics or low-cost clinics,” he said.

Wood organized the Mission of Mercy, a free dental clinic set for Friday and Saturday at the Tulsa Convention Center.

With the services of more than 1,250 volunteers, including 400 dentists or hygienists, patients will be able to get extractions, fillings, root canals or cleanings. Breakfast and lunch will be served. There are no eligibility or income requirements.

Free dental care for disadvantaged children will be offered Friday by the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.

Free dental services  for those 12 and under this Friday

In cooperation with various dental associations and schools across the state, the Jersey City Medical Center is providing free dental care to children ages 12 and under Friday.

State dental association to host free dental clinic

Educating parents is the main drive behind a free dental clinic taking place Friday in the Savannah Mall.

More than 40 local dental hygienists, technicians and dentists are volunteering their services throughout the 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. clinic as part of “Give Kids a Smile Day.”

The Georgia Dental Association will hold eight other clinics around the state on Friday. Organizers have ordered supplies for more than 120 children at each of the sites, said Colley, who also serves as chairman of the Association’s Council on Dental Health.

Dentists offer free dental care for kids

On Friday, February 5, kids who do not usually get dental check ups will have something to smile about. 13 local dentist offices are participating in the annual “Give Kids a Smile Day.” Uninsured children can get a free dental exam, cleaning, fluoride treatment and oral hygiene instructions. They will also take home a toothbrush and floss.

The free dental care is for kids 16 and under who are not insured, or have Medicaid but no provider. Risser said there are far too many unmet dental health needs in children in the South Bend area.

Dental school provides free care to kids as part of national oral health awareness campaign

The UCLA School of Dentistry will offer free dental care to infants and children up to 14 years of age as part of a nationwide service event known as Give Kids a Smile. The event is celebrated each February, National Children’s Dental Health Month, to raise awareness of the need for greater access to care.

Free dental services will include screenings, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatment and emergent/urgent care. Oral health education, nutritional counseling and insurance counseling also will be provided. Games, prizes and gifts will contribute to a festive, child-friendly atmosphere. Dentists will provide free dental care to homeless and needy children Friday at the Sulzbacher Center’s dental clinic in downtown Jacksonville.
