Recently, Ormco, a company that makes orthodontic appliances, has signed a contract with Smile for a Lifetime so that the company can supply free orthodontic appliances for children in the United States that are from underprivileged families.
Ormco plans to offer free braces to any orthodontist that is an affiliate of Smile for a Lifetime.
Ormco’s spirit of generosity will undoubtedly help many children; free braces will be given to children that come from families that may otherwise not be able to afford such treatments.
Undoubtedly, this act of generosity will benefit children by changing lives, and the act of offering free orthodontic appliances will help communities see that health care providers are people that really care about the health of others.
The company Ormco will be offering a variety of free orthodontic appliances: among some of the free braces will be those from the Damon system.
The latter system consists of a combination of memory arch wires and tieless braces which help assist clinicians in offering comfortable and fast treatment to children in need.
What’s more, the free orthodontic offerings will include the Simpli5 aligner system which will help in offering fully customized free braces.
On an annual basis, there are hundreds of people that apply for help via Smile for a Lifetime. In order to be approved for free braces, Smiles for a Lifetime requires proof of financial need, the involvement of the community, proof of special circumstances, and letters of recommendation.
Presently, over two million dollars in free braces and free orthodontic appliances have been delivered to families that cannot afford to pay for the necessary appliances that their children require.
