Office to offer free dental work for kids

The dental office of Dr. Dona W. Prince, 4220 Sergeant Road in Sioux City, will host the annual “Give Kids a Smile” program from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 4.

The program offers free dental services to local children from low-income families. Prince’s six-person office will provide a dental screening, cleaning, fluoride, x-rays and education to an estimated 100 children ages 1 to 18.

Dentists work together to fill dental-care needs

TULSA — A large-scale dental-care clinic next month in Tulsa is expected to attract thousands of Oklahomans who need dental services.

Dental professionals provide free dental work at a Kansas Mission of Mercy dental clinic.

The first free Oklahoma Mission of Mercy dental event Feb. 5-6 at Tulsa Convention Center will be open to the public, with no eligibility or income requirements required for patients to be treated. The convention center will be turned into a fully functional dental facility with 90 chairs and almost 1,000 volunteers, including hundreds of dentists and dental hygienists who will donate their time.

Free Clinic for New York City Teens Offers Free Dental Work

At risk teens in New York City will be able to use a free walk-in clinic for optical and dental services at Mt. Sinai Adolescent Center, located in Mt. Sinai Hospital beginning May 2010.

NEW YORK, January 25, 2010 — New York State and City legislators will gather at Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center Friday, January 29, at 8:30 a.m. to tour the Center’s expanded facility and new optical and dental suites. Among the legislators expected are New York State Assembly Health Committee Chair Richard N. Gottfried, State Assemblyman Micah Kellner, and New York City Council member Daniel R. Garodnick, in whose district the Center is located. Garodnick has supported the Center’s plan to build the clinics.

Free dental clinic scheduled

Organizers of the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic are looking to a board game to help pay off debt. A Free the Clinic Scrabble Tournament takes place from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Old Brick.

“We hope this will make some money for the free medical clinic and also be a really fun day for people who love Scrabble,” organizer Pat Weir said.
