Free Dental Work Reports — Several programs give free dental care to children, but adults are often missed. Dentists will provide free dental care to uninsured and low-income adults and children, as a part of an effort to raise awareness about the importance of dental health during Dental Health Month in February. Free dental services include fillings, cleanings, extractions, root canals, some cosmetic dental work, pain control and interim partial dentures on a limited basis.

Free dental services for local children

Learning proper oral hygiene from an early age helps to develop lifelong healthy habits, which is precisely the reason for the annual Save and Seal Our Smiles dental fair.

On Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon, children from kindergarten to sixth grade will have access to free dental exams, from local dentists in the Science Building at Fresno City College.

Children will be seen on a first-come, first served basis. In past years, upwards of 200 children were given the free exams, and event coordinators expect closer to 500 children to be seen this year.

Services being offered along with the exams can include cleanings, X-rays, sealants, fillings, extractions and crowns.
