Health center offers free dental services for kids Friday
BRIDGEPORT — Youngsters in Bridgeport will have plenty to smile about on Friday — and more brightly, too — thanks to the Southwest Community Health Center.
In conjunction with National Children’s Dental Health Month and Give Kids a Smile Day, the health center on Fairfield Avenue will offer free dental screenings and cleanings to children from low-income families.

2 free dental clinics for Butler County youths are part of National Children’s Dental Health Month.
MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Community Dental Center will host “Give Kids A Smile Day,” a nationwide program sponsored by the American Dental Association to provide free dental services to underserved children.
Two clinics for Butler County children will be offered this month. The first is Friday, Feb. 5, at the Middletown Community Dental Center, and the second is Friday, Feb. 19, at Fairfield Middle School.

Diman freshman to receive free dental services
FALL RIVER — The dental assisting program at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School is conducting a Give Kids a Smile Event on Saturday, Feb. 6.
As part of the National Children’s Dental Health Month events, 100 Diman freshmen will receive free dental health screenings and fluoride treatments. This is a one-day event where dentists and dental staff volunteer their time to provide dental treatment. The first 100 forms returned will be signed up for the event.

Free dental services for Las Cruces first-graders
LAS CRUCES – Local member dentists of the New Mexico Dental Association will provide free dental screenings to first-grade students throughout the month of February in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month.
Dentists will provide free dental screenings to more than 2,400 first-graders in the Las Cruces Public Schools and Gadsden Independent School District. Dentists will collaborate with school nurses to provide the screenings and oral hygiene instructions.

Free dental services
Free dental services will be provided to any Dallas County child from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Family Clinic, 2922 MLK Jr. Blvd., Building B, in South Dallas. The clinic has partnered with the Dallas County Dental Society to host the Give Kids a Smile event as part of National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Free dental care clinics available
Low-income families are invited to participate in the Give Kids a Smile Campaign sponsored by the Will County Dental Society Feb. 6. The program offers free dental services for children and enable low-income families to comply with state law mandating dental exams.
To be eligible, children must be Will County residents in kindergarten through fifth grade and must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Free dental care will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon.

Hundreds expected to line up for free dental services
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Hundreds are expected to line up Thursday until a dental clinic opens early Friday with free dental care.
Dr. Vincent Monticciolo put together a team of dentists and volunteers to assist him with a program called Dentistry From the Heart. They expect to treat about 500 patients who need fillings, cleanings and extractions Friday morning at 7.

Tomorrow is the 10th Annual Dentistry From the Heart free dental services event at Monticciolo General and Sedation Dentistry, located at 4530 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey, FL. 500 patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 7:30 a.m. You may want to dig out that sleeping bag and prepare to camp out, as hundreds of people are lined up before dawn for this once a year event.
The dental staff will be providing free cleanings, fillings and extractions. Referrals will be made for patients needing additional dental work performed. Patients must be 18 years or older, and there are no income requirements to qualify.

Pasco dentist sets healthy example with free one-day clinic
Monticciolo founded the now-national program in 2001 and he traditionally picks a Friday preceding Valentine’s Day for his effort. This year dentists in 20 states are holding similar dental-care giveaways, with 42 events scheduled for February. The nonprofit organization says volunteer dentists have performed more than $5.5 million worth of free dentistry on 25,000 patients since its inception.

Can’t afford New Jersey dental care for your children?
Several thousand low-income New Jersey children who lack a regular source of dental care will receive free oral health services Friday as part of National Dental Access Day.
Oral health education, screening and treatment services will be available at more than 80 sites statewide, including five sites operated by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, more than 30 community health center sites, and at private dentist offices and hospital dental clinics.

Hundreds line up for free dental clinic that opens Friday
Hundreds of other uninsured people lined up through the evening and night Thursday for free dental care at the two-day Mission of Mercy dental clinic, which was to open its doors at the Tulsa Convention Center at 5 a.m. Friday.
Dr. C. Rieger Wood, president of the Oklahoma Dental Association, said the doors will stay open Friday and Saturday until 800 patients are cared for each day, for a total of 1,600 people. Hundreds, likely, will be turned away once the 800 patient limit per day is met, he said.

Free dental screenings for kids
Free dental services: The Smile Squad mobile dental clinic from the DuPage County Health Department will be parked at the DuPage Children’s Museum, 301 N. Washington St., Naperville, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to provide free dental screenings for children ages 3 to 6. The walk-in clinic is part of national Give Kids a Smile Day and no appointments will be taken. Patients who receive the free services will also receive a coupon good for one free adult admission with one paid child admission, which can be used on Feb. 5 or a later date.
Norwich dentist offering free dental services to needy kids
Norwich, Conn. — Norwich dentist Robert Strick is one of the Connecticut dentists who is participating in the eighth annual Give Kids a Smile Day today.
Strick will treat children referred from United Community & Family Services. He also is opening his doors today to any child who needs free dental care. Although the initiative begins in February, many dentists continue with free care or become the child’s dentist throughout the year, Bicknell said.

A Giant Free Dental Clinic
By the time the two day Oklahoma Mission of Mercy free dental clinic shuts down Saturday evening it is likely about two thousand people will have been helped. The man in charge of the clinic on the floor of the Tulsa Convention Center is Doctor Rieger Wood. He is commanding an army of over a thousand dental and medical professionals. The target is those people needing dental care but who have no dental insurance and cannot afford it.
Besides the dental care the program will offer information on other programs that provide free or low cost medical care.

BRIDGETON – The Local Dental Assisting program at Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC) will provide one day of free preventative and emergency dental care today.

Volunteer dentists from the Georgia Dental Association and students from the dental hygiene program at Armstrong Atlantic are examining children from ages 3 to 18 for free.

Give kids a smile day Hawaii
For the sixth year in a row, The Hawai’i Dental Association (HDA) Dental Samaritans teamed up with City Councilmember Todd K. Apo for Give Kids a Smile Day, an annual event that promotes good oral health for Hawaii’s children.
This year, volunteer dentists and their staff took dentistry on the road, to Ewa Elementary on Oahu and Ele’ele Elementary on Kauai. More than 700 students from both schools received free dental screenings, oral health care lessons and free dental products. Sponsors, Henry Schein Corporation and Patterson Hawaii generously donated free dental home kits. Kits included toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and fun educational materials.
