Free Dental Services Offered for Needy

Local ROP students help hundreds in need

INGLEWOOD – Local students recently put to the test what they have learned in the classroom for a good cause. A dozen Tri-Cities ROP students studying to become dental assistants volunteered their services at a weeklong health care event held recently at the Los Angeles Forum.

Thousands without health insurance were offered free dental services. The students worked alongside dentists and dental hygienists for several days.

“Our students were able to participate in a truly significant event where thousands of people received much-needed dental care free of charge,” said Tri-Cities ROP dental assistant instructor Pat McCaw. More than 100 dental chairs were set up for patient free dental care in the Forum along with USC’s Mobile Dental Clinic.
