Students at Edwards Elementary were helped with an essential — though perhaps not entirely welcome — service this week, thanks to a free dental clinic from the “Tooth Taxi.”
The mobile clinic, housed in a 36-foot motorhome, is funded by the Dental Foundation of Oregon and the OEA Choice Trust insurance firm. Its mission is to provide dental care to underserved kids throughout the state.
1,000 get free health services in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE – An estimated 1,000 people lined up Saturday for Orange County’s first health expo to get free medical care as part of an event to help the uninsured and underinsured.
The event at Coastline Community College offered free exams, including dental and vision, as well assistance to help residents learn their options for public health care, said Paul Leon, executive director of the Illumination Foundation, a nonprofit started in 2008 that looks to provide health care services for low-income and homeless residents.
