Free health fair this Saturday in Austin

For those who can’t afford to go to the doctor or don’t have health insurance, Third Unitarian Church’s Austin outreach committee is hosting a free health and wellness fair July 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held at the church, 301 N. Mayfield Ave.

Free dentistry offered

An international non-profit charity hopes to bring dozens of smiles to less-fortunate Central Albertans with dental problems.

Dentistry from the Heart, started nine years ago by a Florida dentist, hosted its first event in Alberta in Edmonton last weekend. Its second will be in Red Deer on Saturday. Individuals will be able to get free fillings, cleanings and extractions done through two Appleway locations, at Village Mall and Inglewood Station, starting at 8:30 a.m.

CWRU Dental School Adopts Families for New Initiative

Starting in August, dental students along with their preceptor, a practicing dentist in the community with a clinical appointment and the preceptor group’s faculty member and advisor, will start care for the family. The dental school will provide each family with a specified amount in free dental care.

Free dental services at Dental clinics

SCHOOL dental services in Counties Manukau are undergoing a major overhaul to give children access to world-class dental care.

It’s part of the government’s aim to improve dentistry around the country after surveys found existing clinics are not able to support modern dentistry. Ms McKay says many people are unaware dental treatment is free for under-18s.

Free dental check-ups for residents

HEALTH bosses are offering free dental check-ups on a first-come, first-served basis. NHS Redbridge is offering the check-ups to the first 500 people who contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Team.

The check-ups will include scaling and polishing teeth, a process which removes hardened plaque and superficial staining.

Kids get free dental screening

AMERICAN CANYON — Free dental screenings and fluoride varnishing treatments for children will be offered from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the American Canyon Family Resource Center.

Fluoride varnish helps prevent tooth decay, according to the announcement. The screenings, provided by the Pediatric Dental Initiative of Windsor, are for children under 8 or for those with special needs under 14. Children need not be from American Canyon, officials said.

3 free shot clinics gear up for back to school

Three free clinics are scheduled in the coming weeks for children 4 to 18.

The clinics are being put on by El Rio Community Health Center in partnership with the Boy and Girls Clubs of Tucson, Tucson Medical Center, Sol Casinos and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. El Rio’s dental department will also offer screenings for children.
