Did you know that tooth decay is the most common chronic disease affecting children in this country?
For over 100 years, some of New York City’s neediest children have received free dental work in school- and community-based clinics through the city’s Oral Health Program. But funding for OHP has been cut for several years, and the OHP clinics were officially targeted for elimination in Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s preliminary budget for fiscal year 2010.

Free dental clinic set for June 26-27
The second Eastern Panhandle Mission of Mercy (M.O.M) free dental clinic will be held at Hedgesville High School on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27. Doors for the dental clinic will open each day at 6 a.m.
There are no appointments. Patients will be seen on a first come, first serve basis. The free dental clinic is for the uninsured, underinsured or anyone that can’t afford to see a dentist. Patients must be 18 years of age or older.

Dental Staff To Offer Free Dental Work For Dads
MANCHESTER – - Columbia Dental dentists and staff will provide free dental work for fathers on Father’s Day.
The dentists and hygienists will take panoramic X-rays, make dental evaluations and provide free dental cleanings for fathers without dental insurance on June 21 at their 483 West Middle Turnpike offices. The session will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first serve basis.

Free Clinic Struggling in Tough Economy
As the economic recession goes on, the number of people without health and dental insurance is growing. Thousands go without coverage in mid-Michigan. There is a place people can visit for their medical needs- Lansing’s Care Free” Clinic. That clinic can no longer afford to meet the demand. Courtney Smith meets with Dr. Saltman weekly. She suffers from multiple sclerosis and until recently, she wasn’t doing very well.
Smith wasn’t getting treated, because she doesn’t have insurance. Then she heard about the Care Free medical and dental clinic.

Free dental work available for kids next week in Boise
The kickoff of Miles of Smiles Dental Outreach Week will be 10 a.m. Friday at Morley Nelson Elementary School, 7701 W. Northview Street in Boise.
Dental Outreach Week begins Monday and provides free dental work to local children of unemployed parents who, because of these difficult economic times, do not already have a dentist.
