Pooler Family Dentistry offers free services

Members of the Howard Dental Group will offer free dental services to the first 200-plus people who come to their Pooler Family Dental practice office Nov. 20 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. during their inaugural Dentistry from the Heart event.

Dr. John Howard, founder of the Howard Dental Group, along with eight general dentists and 10 dental hygienists will participate.

Free cleanings, fillings and simple extractions will be offered. Patients who need ongoing care or have problems that cannot be fixed in one day will be advised on how to access other low cost dental health care providers.

Call the financial aid office or social work office or go to the dental clinic and talk with the clerk. Sometimes dental clinics are located off site of the hospital. I haven’t been there in awhile since I worked the ED in 1981.

Jordan Valley Dental Clinic Helps Uninsured

Imagine having a tooth that has a deep cavity, which makes hard to eat, think or even make it through the day, and you don’t have insurance or enough money to pay for a costly dental visit. Jordan Valley Community Health Center screened 115 people and gave out vouchers, so that some individuals in that situation could receive free dental care Wednesday. KSMU’s Kristian Kriner reports.

Tim Shryack, director of operations at the health center, says people like Chancellor are the reason Jordan Valley does these free clinics. He says this is the third time the health center has handed out vouchers for free dental care.

Free dental clinic in N.C. today draws hundreds

The free dental clinic attracted as many as 600 people on Friday, who were seeking care from about 150 volunteer dentists and hygienists. It was hosted by the Dare County Department of Public Health and the North Carolina Dental Society.

A second clinic is scheduled today, with about the same number expected to wait for help on a first-come, first-served basis.

N.J. dentist will exchange Halloween candy for a free dental services

Dentist Lucy Slutsky is worried about your teeth.

Halloween means collecting lots of candy. And to dentists, that means tooth damage. But Dr. Slutsky is fighting back by offering one act of charity in response to another.

Instead of just buying back Halloween candy, she’s going further.

On Sunday, Nov. 1, she will open her office at 100 Northfield Ave., in West Orange from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept and weigh children’s donations of Halloween candy that will be sent to U.S. soldiers overseas. In return for their acts of charity, the children will receive a certificate thanking them for thinking of others plus some free dental work.

Springfield Clinic Offers Free Dental Services

Helping people through the grind of this depression. That’s what a local clinic is trying to do. The Jordan Valley Community Health Center hosted its Care To Give Day.

Dentists say not taking care of your teeth can cause major challenges for your health. “It can lead to pre-mature delivery.” Dr. Smith exclaimed. “It can cause health problems with infections from your mouth.”
The clinic was the third of four free dental clinic days.

Volunteers Needed For A Free Dental Clinic

Greensboro, NC — Volunteers are needed to help free dental clinic at First Presbyterian Church November 6 and 7.

FPC’s Mullin Life Center will be the site of the North Carolina Missions of Mercy free dental clinic on Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Between 40 and 60 dentists plus staff will provide cleaning, X-rays, fillings and extractions for an expected crowd of 500 to 700 people.

Dental services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and income must be at 200 percent or below of poverty level:
