Free dental clinic serves dozens of patients
WESTPORT — For many people, a trip to the dentist is a dreaded event, and definitely not a cause for celebration. But at Perfect Smiles in Westport on Saturday, people lined up before sunrise to get a cleaning, filling or extraction — all for free. Friendly volunteers bustled around the office, organizing paperwork, signing up patients and calling the next person in line. And as people left the office with a toothbrush, toothpaste and a Perfect Smiles t-shirt, they were smiling.
Dr. David Ahearn, founder of Perfect Smiles, decided to offer a free adult clinic at his office as a way to thank the region, which he has called “the most gorgeous place I had ever seen.”

Dental care free in Lincroft on Oct. 2
Dentistry From The Heart, Newman Springs Dental Care’s gift of a free day of dentistry, will be held on Thursday, October 2nd at the Lincroft practice.
The dental volunteers will provide examinations, digital x-rays, blood pressure and oral cancer screenings, and a choice of an extraction, filling or cleaning to people, aged 18 and up, who show up.
Registration is from 7:00 AM until 9:00 AM and is first come, first served. This year’s event will be the second annual Dentistry From The Heart event for Newman Springs Dental Care at 539 Newman Springs Road in Lincroft.
Last year over $34,000 of free dental care was provided to 93 patients in a single day.
