Give Kids A Smile, Free Dental Care for those in Need

Ocean Pediatric Dental Associates will provide one day of free preventive and emergency dental care for children under 12. The one-day program, called Give Kids A Smile (GKAS), will take place on Friday, February 5, 2010, and is part of the American Dental Association’s (ADA) annual push to bring attention to the number one childhood disease, tooth decay.

Local needy children to receive dental help

Free dental clinics for local low income children will be held on Feb. 5 and April 1 in Valencia and Canyon Country from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sponsored by the Foundation for Children’s Dental Health, charter member-dentists of the “Smile Coalition” have come together to serve needy children in the community.

The Foundation for Children’s Dental Health is a non-profit organization dedicated to provide affordable dental care to the underserved and unserved school children in the Santa Clarita Valley who would not otherwise have these services available to them.

Local Dentists and Lake Superior College to Provide Free Dental Care to Children in Need

(Duluth, Minn.) — Lake Superior College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic is teaming up with dental professionals, including ten volunteer dentists, to provide free care for children whose families cannot afford to pay for it.

Give Kids a Smile Day.Openings are available for any child under 18 years old who needs dental care.

Free Dental Work For Kids

Omaha, NE (KPTM) – Getting kids to go the dentist can be a challenging task.

But one program is making it easy for both kids and parents to polish the pearly whites.

It’s called “Give Kids a Smile” and it was held today at the Douglas County Health Department Dental Clinic.

MCHC has free dental program for youngsters

Mariposa Community Health Center has a new program, Project Happy Smile/Proyecto Sonrisa Feliz, to all children from 0-5 years of age in Santa Cruz County.

Proyecto Sonrisa Feliz offers oral health screening and fluoride varnish application, provided by a Registered Dental Hygienist at regularly scheduled community sites in the county.

Children as young as 1 year of age benefit from the screening and fluoride application as these preventative measures help to avoid dental decay later.

Four area dentists to provide free care to some elementary students

Four local dentists will provide free dental care to second and third grade students, at Lincoln Elementary School in Twin Falls during the next two and a half weeks.

The event will take place during regular school hours on two Fridays, February 5th and 9th; participating children will receive a free dental exam, sealants and fluoride treatments.

Free dental exams for children to be given Thursday

RACINE — The Racine County Dental Society will partner with the Health Care Network for the fifth annual Give Kids a Smile Day from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Health Care Network Inc., 904 State St.

The American Dental Association created Give Kids a Smile Day to build support for public and private solutions that will help under served children get regular oral health care. For the fifth year children will be seen at the Health Care Network for a free dental exam, aftercare will be scheduled with Racine area dentists at no charge to the patient.

Children age 6 to 13 are eligible to receive free dental exams.

Free dental care for needy kids

Third District legislators Senate Majority Leader Stephen M. Sweeney, Assembly Deputy Speaker John Burzichelli and Assemblywoman Celeste Riley urge residents to take advantage of a day of free dental care for children. The “Give Kids a Smile!” program for children age 12 and younger, sponsored by the New Jersey Dental Association, is slated for Friday. It will feature free dental services such as dental screenings and restorative and emergency dental care.

FREE Dental Care For Kids

Tampa, Florida – Dr. Vincent Monticciolo is doing it again. For it’s nineth year, Dentistry From the Heart is giving 500 people free dental care. The event has taken on a life of it’s own. Last year, a line of people camped out on the sidewalk outside Monticciolo’s office for a chance at a free extraction, filling or cleaning.

(Cleveland) – The Case Western Reserve University Dental School hosted its annual Free Dental Exam Day today.

About 500 people took advantage of free dental examinations, X-rays and teeth cleaning, at the CWRU School of Dental Medicine at Cornell Road and Emergency Drive.

Bright Smiles for Children

Kids in Shasta County can get FREE dental care next Friday as Shasta College dental hygiene students, local dentists and other volunteers participate in national “Give Kids a Smile Day.”

From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., kids 18 and under who have no dental insurance can get free exams, fillings, sealants, cleanings and more. The children will also be instructed in proper dental care. Shasta County social agencies will provide information to parents.

Area dentists to offer free clinic for children

Dentists will partner to provide free dental care to underprivileged children during a week-long clinic that begins Monday, Feb. 1, in the Berry Room of the Ervin J. Nutter Center.

More than 25 dentists, nine hygienists and a group of orthodontists are participating in the clinic, Dr Womack said.

“It’s a big team effort,” said Nicky Thomas, office manager at Beavercreek Pediatric Dentistry, which Womack owns.

The group will provide free cleanings, sealants, fillings and other “basic dental needs” to about 500 elementary and middle school children up to age 16 from schools across the Miami Valley, Thomas said.

Event provides free dental care for kids

Every year for the last four years, the Levy Dental Group on State Street has opened its doors to uninsured, low-income children, providing free dental care and information about state services for low-income families, including health and dental insurance and food assistance.

The annual clinic is staffed by a volunteer army of dentists, hygienists, translators and outreach workers.

Every kid gets a cleaning, fluoride treatment and an X-ray, and many also require more serious dental work, including extractions, root canals and fillings.

Free dental services for kids

Free dental services will be provided to any Dallas County child from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Family Clinic, 2922 MLK Jr. Blvd., Building B, in South Dallas. The clinic has partnered with the Dallas County Dental Society to host the event, Give Kids a Smile, as part of National Children’s Dental Health Month. Children must have an appointment.
