Families in Need of Get Free Dental Work

A bit of Las Vegas was brought into Honolulu Sunday night, to raise money for free dental work to families in need. The Hawaii Dental Association held a gala fundraiser at Restaurant Row. At “Casino Heaven,” hundreds of guests were treated to Sin-City style games, food and entertainment. All the money raised will go to the HDA’s Dental Samaritans, a non-profit that provides oral health care, clinics and screenings to low-income areas across the state.

“We do give kids a smile program, give kupuna a smile program,” Kim Oga, HDA Board Member said. “We’ll often give money to help build homeless shelters, their own dental care.”

$$ For Free Dental Work

Laid off? No more employer or state sponsored insurance? Too cheap to buy low-cost dental work but that sweet tooth need some TLC? What better than to qualify to be an exam patient for national dental exam boards at University of Pacific Dental School!

Not only did I receive a FREE checkup, full mouth x-ray, and a filling, I was also fed Costco pizza and walked away with $100 dollars as compensation for my time by the student dentist that worked on me!

Two weeks ago, I replied to a Craigslist ad in the FREE section (where I normally peruse through now-a-days instead of Missed Connection) looking for qualified exam patients and promising $100 on top of free dental work.

Network fills in kids’ dental care gaps

Although California still offers free dental care for uninsured children from low-income families (the state’s dental care program for poor adults will be discontinued July 1), no dentist in Calaveras County currently accepts Denti-Cal.
