These days’ dentistry students only have to have access to the Internet to download case studies with image and film that shows surgical procedures and disease directly to their iPhone, iPad, or laptop.

This is Germany’s only platform for e-learning and the guidelines are issued by the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE), as the basis for this learning program.

The advantage of this tool is that it provides students with a guide structure to make sure that they know what is important in dentistry.

In addition, it facilitates rapid access to information and course relevant subjects.

Up until now, the methods used that were to train and teach the dental students nearly exclusively required their presence in the operating room or lecture hall.

The usual teaching scenario for the student dentists is to take a group of about twenty of them and allow them to stand around the dentist’s chair while trying to look into the patient’s mouth while the professor tries to explain a certain procedure to them.

There is no doubt that this new platform of e learning platform has real advantages such as being the ideal study aid for numerous dental students during their clinical training and it also provides them with an excellent opportunity to process and recap the dental subject individually.

Therefore, this system helps with the long term enhancement of the medical training and the quality of teaching.

Currently, the library is made up of 80 clinical cases. Some have film footage of the surgical procedures.

All of the images can be viewed on an iPod or laptop or iPad. Students who are an internal user group can access the library.

There are plans to increase the number of clinical cases that are available online to almost 200 in the near future.

Another feature of this system is its powerful search function that allows users to rapidly find information on dentistry related subjects.

The system also has a calendar function that allows users to search for past and current past lectures.

This concept can be used in medicine as well as other disciplines to achieve significant progress in both teaching and learning.
