Free dental clinic draws long lines

GRAND BLANC (WJRT) — When jobs are lost and paychecks shrink, many people put off dental care.

Friday nearly 300 people in Mid-Michigan had cavities filled and teeth pulled at a free clinic. Few people look forward to a trip to the dentist, but even temperatures in the 20s overnight couldn’t keep these folks away. For the third year in a row, the Dental Care Team opened its doors to the less fortunate, and the first patient showed up at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Free clinic set to open in southeast community of Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS – A free health clinic in the southeast community of Newport News is booked for the next several weeks and it’s not even open yet.

The Community Free Clinic on 25th Street will begin seeing patients on Tuesday.

Dentistry From the Heart: Pooler Dentist Offers Free Care to Patients

POOLER, GA –The Howard Dental Group of Pooler provided free dental services to the community Friday as part of the 4th annual Dentistry from the Heart event.

Dentistry From The Heart is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those who need it.

Drive on to get teeth in Great Shape!

NEGRIL, Westmoreland: STUDENTS OF Green Island Primary School in Hanover were on Wednesday treated to free dental check-up and gifts through Great Shape! Inc and Sandal Foundation’s community-based free dental sealant programme.

The programme is also in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and is designed to reduce dental cavities in Jamaican children by half.

Free adult dental clinic planned for 2011

GALESBURG — Thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Galesburg Community Foundation, the Knox County Health Department plans to host a free adult dental clinic day.

The exact day hasn’t been confirmed yet. Rhonda Peterson, the Knox County Health Department’s director of family health services who announced the grant and effort to deliver dental care to those over the age of 18, said it will likely be sometime in May or June 2011.

Free Dental Care Available In Union Friday

Dr. Michael Edwards of the Optima Dental Group, Union, will provide free cleanings, fillings, and extractions to those in need at his office at 124 W. Main Street Friday. The free dental service is part of Dr. Edwards’ involvement in the national Dentistry From The Heart non-profit organization.
