Lessons Of A Weekend Of Free Dental and Health Care

“We literally loaded a couple of 400-pound dental chairs that we borrowed into the back of a pickup truck and we went up there with a couple of dentists,” Brock says. “It wasn’t long before another county called and on and on and on and on.”

By the time the couple reaches the gym, dentists clustered around 38 portable dental chairs fill the Union County Patriot’s home court. Patients pack the bleachers.

Offering Free Dental Care (Chapel Hill)

Have you not had a cleaning or xrays of your teeth in 5 or more years?
Do you take reasonably good care of your teeth but think you may have some cavities and definitely have tartar (calculus) on your teeth?

I’m a resident at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and am looking for patients to sit for a board exam on Friday, February 26th at the dental school. You would need to be available that day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and would be compensated for your time. Needed treatments are two types of fillings and a cleaning and would be done at no charge to you.

To see if you qualify, you must be able to come to the dental school for a screening between 1 and 2 p.m. on a Monday thru Friday as soon as possible. Some xrays will be taken free of charge to see if you have the correct types of cavities and enough tartar (calculus) on your teeth.
