Service Summary: Offers free, limited dental services for uninsured residents of Fredericksburg and Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties with household incomes of less than 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines ($13,538 annually for single people). Volunteer dentists and dental hygienists provide fillings, extractions and cleanings Tuesday and Thursday evenings by appointment. Initial medical screenings required.

Dental School offers free dental exams, xrays, cleaning
CLEVELAND — There will be free dental exams, x-rays and teeth cleanings in January at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, at Cornell Road and Emergency Drive (University Hospitals Case Medical Center) in University Circle.
The free dental exams will be from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 30.
No appointment is needed for the first-come, first-served exams.
Walk-in patients must be 18 years or older, not a current patient, or someone with full dentures.
The dental exam includes x-rays and cleanings during the volunteer service day organized by the dental student’s from the school’s Student Council.

Statewide free dental program available to kids
CENTRAL JERSEY — The New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA) will host the national Give Kids a Smile! (GKAS) Children’s Dental Access Day for the eighth year on Friday, Feb. 5 at more than 80 participating locations around the state.
On this day, thousands of children 12 and younger will have access to free dental care at any of the participating locations.

Lawyer advocates for free dental care for kids
Many more children are showing their smiles this holiday season as Westport resident Ken Bernhard has organized a program with area dentists to provide free dental care to children whose parents cannot afford it.
“This was a gesture that occurred to me this fall as I heard in the news that one of the victims of the recession was dental care for children,” said Bernhard, principal at the law firm of Cohen & Wolf PC, which has offices in Bridgeport, Danbury, Orange and Westport. “If the teeth of young people are ignored, it can create permanent damage and be a lifelong affliction that could have been easily avoided.”

Clinics gets another big donation
First, the Gainesville clinics raised $95,000 in 95 days following a $95,000 donation from an anonymous donor who asked that the community match the donation. And Tuesday, Kaiser Permanente of Georgia provided another grant of $95,000 to Good News, which provides free dental and health care to Hall County residents who do not have insurance and cannot afford it.
