Dentists Provide Free Dental Care For 200 Patients

Dr. Art Bravo, a community health dentist from Chelan, looks over a patient who was in line Friday to receive free dental work. Eleven local dentists provided free dental work to about 200 patients, mostly for extractions and fillings. The clinic was held at Dr. Aaron Kelly’s office in Wenatchee.
Being subjected to the needle, drill and pliers was a treat for a couple hundred people looking for relief Friday.
People who can’t afford dental care showed up to Wenatchee Dental on Miller Street where a team of 11 local dentists got together to fill and pull troublesome teeth for free.
Dr. Aaron Kelly, whose office hosted the free session, figured the team of 11 dentists did about $100,000 worth of work.
“There’s so many needs in our world, it’s good to remember people right here need help,” Kelly said.
Though many there had endured, or were awaiting, a painful experience, the mood of the place was cheery, said Serve Wenatchee Valley volunteer Kathy Ochs.
“We’re seeing a lot of smiles,” she said.
