Dentists Offer Free Dental Care Services
January 18th, 2009Free dental clinic scheduled in New Bern
A free dental clinic is set for Jan. 23 and 24 in New Bern.
The dental clinic will serve people with low incomes and will be sponsored by MERCI Clinic, N.C. Missions of Mercy.
At least 18 dentists from New Bern, Washington, Havelock and Morehead City, along with hygienist assistants, will be at dental clinic.
Students from East Carolina University and Chapel Hill will also be offering affordable services at the dental clinic.
An announcement from MERCI Clinic said research shows that poor medical health can be directly linked to poor dental health, especially for those with heart problems or diabetes.
“This is the first time we have had a dental clinic. We want to reach out to the community. The community has given so much to us, we want to give back,” said Nancy Alexander, executive director of the MERCI Clinic.

Free Dental for Huron families
The Huron County Health Unit is offering free dental services to families who may not be able to cover the cost.
Public Health Manager Sherri Bezaire says the Children in Need of Treatment (CINOT) program is one that is offered to families with children up to the age of 14.
She says the Ministry of Health Promotion has expanded the programming and is funding the health unit to offer it for children up until their 18th birthday.
Bezaire says the Ministry is fully funding the program for 2009 and will then go to a cost sharing system for 2010 and onward.

Approximately 1yr ago in a vehicle accident I was hit head on. 5 upper front teeth were broken. At this point there’s no pain. I have Ins funds amounting up to $5,ooo. to cover dental expenses. I am in need of other dental care & do not have coverage. I am hoping to find someone in dentistry, that would do the dental work I am in need of for this amount. Sedation would be deeply appreciated! I am willing to have as much work done on each visit as allowed, or legally possible. Any response & or consideration very much appreciated! Thank you, Jim H.
